Automatic Transmission Fluid degrades quickly when the temperature climbs. This significantly shortens the life of your transmission as you can see in the table above (click to enlarge). If you can get more fluid in the transmission, it will run cooler. The design of the Mag-Hytec transmission pans does just this by adding capacity and providing cooling fins to provide a little more surface area for the pan to dissipate heat.
Another benefit of the pans is the ease of maintenance when fluid change time rolls around. Instead of removing multiple bolts around the pan and having the fluid rain down on your arm and drain pan and possibly the floor, you can just remove the drain plug just like you would on your engine. Makes you wonder why they didn't design one into the pan in the first place.
Most people won't notice the pan under your truck, but when you crawl under there for maintenance, you'll appreciate the quality, features and ease of maintenance these pans provide.
