The console is not for sale at the moment due to an audit of orders.  I have had 45 made and I'm in the process of doing an audit of the orders.  If there are any left after the audit, I will open this page to ordering again.  Thanks.

 

This appears to be the only production run that will be made of this console.  I haven't had the response that I need to make another batch of 25.  If you are thinking of ordering, this may be your only chance!!!!  Get your order in by the end of March 2011 to get in on this production run!

One of the problems with the 3rd generation Dodge trucks is that they don’t have a convenient place to mount a CB or Ham radio without blocking the floor mounted cup holders.  Another problem is that there is no lockable storage inside the truck.  What if you carry a firearm and need to leave it in the vehicle? (if state law allows)  Where do you lock it up?  What about valuable camera equipment and other things you don’t want to be stolen in the event of a “smash and grab”?  It would be nice to have a convenient place to mount switches and small electronics like a cell phone or an iPod.  We wouldn’t want to solve all of these problems and lose the convenient upper console/armrest at the same time.       

 

 

Diesel-max.com has come up with a solution. 

The DSC is a lockable storage solution that is hand-made in the U.S.A. by a professional cabinet fabrication shop and is manufactured with a thicker steel (12 guage) than the stock frame of the lower console.

 

It is a high quality solution to the problems mentioned above.  The console is lockable and you will have your choice of locks and the option of choosing a lock that we don’t supply if we can make it work.  The console is more than twice as deep as the stock console because we eliminated the padded seat that rarely gets used.  The stock upper console is mounted to the lower console and remains in the stock location.  The console shown in the pictures is the prototype and has not yet been powder coated and is raw steel.  All consoles will be powder coated to match one of the three interior colors available from Dodge. 

The console allows the use of a CB or Ham radio and puts the controls right at your fingertips.  I had a simple switch box made and put 4 lighted switches in place that can be used to control anything you want using relays.   The cup holders are still fully functional and you just have to reach over whatever you have mounted on the face of the console to get to your drink. 

 

This switch box is now available for purchase!  It will be made exactly as pictured in the pictures, and will have the 4 lighted Carling single pole single throw 12 volt 20 amp lighted green switches.  The switches will come mounted in the switch box.  It is up to you to mount the switch box to the console wherever you want it.

The inside of the console has black premium automotive carpet on the floor of the console only.   

 

The console will have a key only lock that doesn’t latch when the lid is closed unless the key is inserted and locked.   

 

Each console will also have a push button latch that will hold the cover closed.  To open the console, you will push the button on the latch which will pop up.  You will then be able to actuate the button on the latch to open the console.  When you want to lock it, you simply lock the high security lock.

In order to produce the consoles the manufacturer requires that I place an order for at least 25 units.  This will keep the cost down and allow pricing that is reasonable for such a high quality product.   I expect to start production sometime between the middle to end of March. 

 

When the required number of consoles is reached, they will be manufactured and the balance of your order must be paid before the console is shipped.

The console in the pictures is in a Mega Cab and has been designed to fit the truck so that the rear a/c register can still be used.  Quad cab trucks will not have the cutout for the rear seat register.
